  • Peter received his Real Estate Salesman’s License in 1975 and began working for the  Real Estate Firm of Koster-Caswell and later worked for Ed O’Mahony Real Estate. He received his Real Estate Brokers License within one year of registering as a salesman. This was unprecedented as the usual time  for articling was two years. He was given  credit for successfully  completing the Legal Office Administration Diploma Program and working  for the Legal Firm of W.D.J. Moss of Glencoe. ON.
  • In 1976 he established his own Real Estate Office on Robinson Street in Downtown Simcoe. His brother John came to work for him along with  another sales representative.
  • In 1982 Peter decided to return to University and obtain his BA, & BEd, degrees.
  • In 1991 Peter successfully ran for municipal office and proudly served  the taxpayers of Simcoe and Norfolk County. During this  time he maintained his real estate license by completing University  courses in Planning and Downtown Revitalization as well as remaining  current with real estate legislative requirements by completing the Real Estate up-date courses required every two years.
  • Peter  joined the firm of Gene Bystryk Real Estate Ltd. Brokerage in January 2007 and was pleased to be registered and working with this respected and skilled Team.

Peter Black is a lifelong resident of Norfolk, with a family history deeply rooted  in the county. With his daughter and wife Mary, Peter lives in a rural  setting southeast of Lynedoch in a timber frame home he built with his  own hands. Peter and Mary own and operate storefront businesses, in  Downtown Simcoe.


Peter is a graduate of Waterloo and Brock Universities, with two degrees in psychology and education He has taught in schools throughout the county, including teaching  children with learning disabilities. He is a holder of many diplomas and certificates as well as being an ongoing student in law, real estate,  municipal administration, planning, and downtown revitalization, all of  which provide a continuing contribution to his years of municipal  service. He was the only County Councillor to acquire the Municipal  Clerks and Treasures Designation (AMCTA)


Peter has a proven record in business and administration. He is working energetically for the business health of Norfolk. He owns and  operates successful downtown businesses, and serves on the Business Improvement Board of Directors as Vice Chairman and is a founding member of the  Ontario Business Improvement Area Association.

Peter has worked with the agricultural community through his 17-year  membership on The Long Point Region Conservation Authority. He supports  his agricultural colleagues on the Conservation Authority and  understands the needs and concerns of our agricultural community.

Peter has volunteered in the arts, working with the Simcoe Little Theatre, Port Dover Lighthouse  Festival Theatre, Panorama, Lynnwood Arts Centre, and as a member of the Eva Brook Donly Museum, Lynn Valley and Waterford Heritage Trail  Association, the Simcoe Legion, and Trinity Anglican Church Choir.


Peter has served as an outspoken Norfolk Councilor, maintaining an impressive near-perfect attendance record at Council  meetings. He has been a member over 50 committees and associations,  including the provincial level. He has  dedicated himself as a full-time Councilor to all the residents of  Norfolk County.

Peter’s focus today is to provide faithful service to clients requiring a real  estate professional. All his past dedication, commitment and hard work  given to the taxpayers of Norfolk County will now be directed to his individual Real Estate clients.
